Gaelan was past his bedtime watching TV when he heard his mom screaming his name. He thought he was in trouble, but he was in for a bigger surprise. His mom Danielle Edwards was going into labor and there was no one else in the house but him.

Interesting enough, if you had to be in that situation with a 12-year-old, Gaelan would be the right 12-year-old for the job.

With very little need for instruction, Gaelan knew exactly what to do. After watching medical shows on TV and reading medical books on his spare time (What 12-year-old does this willingly?), Gaelan calmly went through the process.

While all of us are already tagging him as a real-life Doogie Howser, we are reminded that he is still a kid as he described cordcutting as ‘gross’. He tells CNN, “I had to wash my hands because… yeah.”

With this experience, there are two directions that little Gaelan can go: He can be inspired to go to medical school OR he can swear off girls forever. Luckily, he picked the former.

I guess mom won’t be complaining about the late night medical shows anymore.
