24-year-old Wanda Dueno could never have imagined that her baby would arrive sooner than expected, and that she would deliver him herself.

Dueno was on the New York subway to visit her sister in the Bronx at around 1:30 a.m. Alone in the subway car, she started to panic when she felt her contractions coming in at full force. With no one nearby to help her, she tried desperately to keep her labor in check.

She pushed the emergency intercom button multiple times, but when the conductor finally came, Dueno already had her baby boy in her arms.

While Dueno has already named the baby Libasse, MTA chief Joseph Lhota thinks he should have been named “Metro.”

“I’m looking forward to meeting this little baby,” he added.
