5-Year-Old Girl Suffers Burns after Mom Allegedly Takes Her to a Tanning Booth
A New Jersey mom was just arrested on child endangerment charges. The woman allegedly took her 5-year-old daughter into a tanning booth, causing the little girl to suffer burns.
44-year-old Patricia Krentcil claims that her daughter simply got sunburned after playing outside on a hot day.
The girl’s father, Rich Krentcil also claims that his daughter simply told classmates that she “went tanning with Mommy.” He believes that when the teacher overheard this statement, she called authorities without verifying information.
“This whole big thing happened, and everyone got involved,” explained Rich. “It was 85 degrees outside, she got sunburned. That’s it. That’s all that happened.”
The mom also explained that trips to the tanning salon are similar to a mother-daughter grocery shopping experience. “I’m in the booth, she’s in the room. That’s all there is to it,” she added.
Under New Jersey law, children under 14 are not allowed to tan at indoor salons.
