7 year old Doodle 4 Google Contest Winner!
Going agaist 107,000 talented K-12 students, Matteo Lopez was announced as the winner of the fourth annual Doodle 4 Google contest. The 7 year-old from San Francisco created a doodle, “Space for Life” which will be featured in Google’s homepage today.
Over 5 million people voted for their favorite doodles. The three other national finalists were: Joseph Miller (4th grade) with “My Galaxy”, Justas Varpucanskis (7th grade) with “The Majestic Sea”, and Hanna Newsom (11th grade) with “Illustration”.
As a hefty prize, Google gave Matteo a $15,000 college scholarship, a netbook, and a $25,000 technology grant for his school. We also think that the Doodle department will be saving Matteo’s resume to be a future Doodler! Congratulations!!!
