8-Year-Old Big Bird Fan To Romney: ‘You Find Something Else To Cut Off!’
While Mitt Romney was the overall winner in last night’s debate, his Sesame Street comment appeared to be on top of people’s minds.
In last night’s debate, Romney made a passing comment about how he was going to reduce the budget deficit by removing certain subsidies, including PBS.
“I’m sorry, Jim,” he tells the PBS moderator. “I’m gonna stop the subsidy to PBS. I like PBS, I love Big Bird. I actually like you, too, but I am not going to keep spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for.”
Unfortunately for Romney, this comment hit hard for a lot of Sesame Street fans. In particular, die-hard fan 8-year-old Cecelia Crawford from Alabama wasn’t too pleased about the callous PBS comment.
This morning, the angry girl-turned-activist wrote a letter to the Republican candidate.
“When I grow up I’m going to get married and I want my kids to watch it so do not cut it off,” she angrily wrote. “You find something else to cut off!”
Crawford’s mom sent the letter to the Romney camp as well as to the HuffPost. See the full (and hilarious) letter below.
Romney’s popularity among the younger generation is definitely dropping. Luckily for him, they don’t vote…just yet.
