8-Year-Old Climbs Mount Kilimanjaro For A Cure
Tyler Armstrong just successfully climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. Impressive enough for any grown man, except that Tyler is only 8-years-old.
Tyler, now the second-youngest person to climb Mount Kilimanjaro is also the youngest person to ever climb to the summit of Mount Whitney in a day.
So why does the young mountaineer put himself up to the challenge? Tyler is fundraising for medical research for Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy. He was inspired after he met a little boy who suffered from the disability.
And Tyler isn’t just stopping at Kilimanjaro. He is also considering climbing Argentina’s Mount Aconcagua or Russia’s Mount Elbrus, both considered some of the highest mountains in the world.
At 8-years-old, sky’s the limit. Congratulations Tyler!
