Basketball Player Scores 71 Points …and the Team Still Lost
And no we aren’t talking about Kobe and the Lakers.
Minnesota Christian Academy high school student Anders Broman scored 71 points, and despite all his efforts, his team still lost in a 114-110 game against Melrose High. Anders’ score marked the second highest single-game total by an individual player in Minnesota state history. (The record for most points is held by Cash Eggleston who scored 90 points back in 2005)
“It was a bittersweet game,” Broman recalls the game. “I made a couple threes to start the half, so I started feeling it. It felt like everything I shot would go in. I love when those days happen.”
His performance, while amazing, is not too much of a surprise for the star player. Broman actually became the youngest player in state history to reach 3,000 career points. Needless to say, he is getting courted by more than a few college coaches, and we daresay that there will be many more to come after they see this game.
