Bear Cubs Caught Red-Handed Stealing from Car
Two bear cubs have been caught red-handed, as they attempted to loot from a car in Colorado.
A mother bear and her three cubs have been linked to 14 car break-ins in Snowmass Village, Colorado. Their life of crime began last month when the mother bear broke into a car and found food. In modern-day learned behavior, the family decided that cars were now their new food source, and the clever bears somehow learned how to open unlocked car doors.
For over a month now, the residents of Snow Mass have been plagued with the looting, so much so that the police issued official “bear alerts.” People have been asked to lock their doors and windows, as well as to keep food out of plain sight.
The Village Shuttle in Snowmass Village posted a warning on their Facebook page.
Bears are breaking into cars in Snowmass Village!
Please lock your cars and try to clean all traces of food out of them. On second thought, sell your car and ride the Village Shuttle. Beats having to clean it.
Seriously! Lock your cars. These cute little guys lives depend on you to act responsibly in bear country.
When police arrived at the scene of the latest incident, two bears ran away, but two of the cubs continued to innocently explore what they believed was their new territory. The police then took a photo of the scene of the crime (above).
