Bill and Giuliana Rancic are finally expecting their first baby together!

“We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered,” Giuliana tells E! “We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey.”

Giuliana’s path to motherhood has been difficult due to a bout of breast cancer, one miscarriage and a disappointing infertility diagnosis.

In fact, Giuliana underwent a double mastectomy in lieu of radiation for her breast cancer, a choice she made so as not to delay waiting to have children.

When she got a miscarriage in 2010, she had almost given up hope. “I said, ‘I’m not doing this again. I can’t.’ I was angry at life and at God,” she said.

This is the first baby for the couple. The child is due in this year via a gestational surrogate, making both parents still genetically linked to the baby.
