Hong Kong billionaire Cecil Chao Sze-tsung announced a $65 million reward to any man who can woo his gay daughter. After days of media silence, his daughter Gigi Chao finally speaks up.

Since the offer went public, Gigi has been flooded with offers from male suitors around the world. And while the rest of the world criticized Cecil for his homophobic ideals, Gigi stands behind her father.

“It’s not that he can’t accept me,” she explained to The Telegraph. “It’s that he can’t accept how society would view me and the status that it would incur. Marriage is still a form of social status. At first I was entertained by it, and then that entertainment turned into the realization and conviction that I am a really lucky girl to have such a loving daddy, because it’s really sweet of him to do something like this as an expression of his fatherly love.”

Gigi who confessed that she was bisexual recently married her partner Sean Yeung in France. “I’m very happy when I’m with her,” she added.
