Boys Berated for Texting Mom After Plane Had Engine Problems
Two young brothers, 12 and 9-year-old-boys were flying alone on a United Airlines jet to Boston when the pilot announced that the plane had engine problems and would need to make an emergency landing. The scared boys sent their mother a text message to inform her of the problem.
Unfortunately, as soon as the plane landed, the pilot and flight attendant grabbed the boys and started threatening them.
“They, like, grabbed us by the arm walking down the jet way and they were like, ‘Oh, you boys are in so much trouble.’” one of the boys Griffin Elliot recalled.
“He doesn’t deserve that,” mom Mairi Elliot defended her boys. “He was in a vulnerable state and he needed to talk to his mom and that’s all.”
The boys were also told that they may not be able to fly again, prompting their mother to demand an apology from the airline.
No statement yet from United Airlines, although this is not the first recent problem the airline has had children flying alone, as a mom claimed that United lost her little girl a week ago.
