26-year-old pregnant woman Christine Bolden recently gave birth to two twin boys. Newsworthy? Yes, especially since the new mom has been declared brain dead for nearly two months.

On March 6th, the expectant mom was walking with her boyfriend when a sudden pain in her head caused her to collapse. Due to two aneurysms in her brain, she has since been in a coma and declared brain-dead.

“It was a hurting feeling,” recounts her aunt Danielle Bolden. “Going there and seeing her laying there.”

To aggravate the situation, Christine’s rising blood pressure made it necessary to quickly deliver the twins.

Twins, Alexander and Nicholas, were delivered via c-section. They were only 25 weeks old and only about 6 inches long. Nicholas weighed in at 1 lb and 9 oz while Alexander weighed 1 lb 4 oz.

“God, he could have took her and the boys,” added Danielle. “But he left the boys. That’s a miracle.”

During the operation, Christine’s family requested that she should not be given any aesthetics. They had hoped that she would feel the pain and wake up from her coma.

There has been no progress in the new mom and she still remains in a coma. Both twins are in stable but critical condition.
