10-year-old Antoine Burks ran back to a burning house and saved his younger sister.

According to WBKO, the fire started when the Trinity accidentally sprayed a shoe aerosol to a nearby lamp, quickly setting it on fire.

“The fire came right to us, and I didn’t know what to do, and it burnt my leg…that’s when I ran out.” Antoine recalled, “And I saw Trinity needed help, so I ran back in.”

Ignoring the flames, Antoine ran back into the house to grab his little sister. “I didn’t know where to go because the fire was standing right by me, so I couldn’t go nowhere,” said Trinity.

Antoine didn’t even think of his own safety. “I thought, what if something bad happens to her, it might have been my fault because I am her big brother, and I have to protect her.”

The two kids are suffering a few burns, but are recovering.
