By now, most of us have seen and heard of bullied bus monitor Karen Klein from Greece, N.Y.  With the viral video spawning outrage,  four of the bullies have now been suspended.

The school district issued a statement:

Following individual meetings this week with school and district administrators, each family waived their right to a hearing and agreed to one-year suspensions from school and regular bus transportation.

In addition to the one-year suspension, the four boys will also have to complete 50 hours of community service, as well as go through an anti-bullying program.

Klein has chosen not to file any criminal charges against the bullies.

An online fundraiser for Klein has reached a whooping $676,334. She is planning to donate a big part of the money to support Down syndrome research (one of her grandkids suffers from the disorder).
