Check Out the World’s Youngest App Developer

July 17, 2012 - By Anthony Konrad

The world’s youngest app developer, Thomas Suarez has been honored with a Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Award AND has already given a TED talk. And yes, he is only 13-years-old.

Thomas Suarez, currently a 6th grader in Los Angeles, started creating and selling his own applications after Apple released their Software Development Kit.

“My parents, my friends and even the people at the Apple store all supported me,” he explained. “And Steve Jobs inspired me.”

With the difficulties and intricacies around programming, Thomas spearheaded his own club of fellow students. where he shares his own knowledge of programming.

At a young age, Thomas has already started his own company, CarrotCorp with its most successful application, “Bustin Jieber”, which is basically an anti-Justin-Bieber game.

“It’s is a variation on the Whac-a-Mole theme,” he explained of the game that allows users to bonk Bieber’s head with a mallet.

Check out his TED speech last year.
