The past years were not easy for Denise Richards, and the adoption was no exception.

“Some people think if a celebrity wants a baby, they get one the next day,” Richards tells US Weekly Magazine. “The adoption took two years and there were times I felt discouraged, times when I got close to adopting a baby and it fell through. But I knew the right baby would find us.”

The actress previously had two daughters, Sam and Lola, with Charlie Sheen. Eloise has been the latest and welcome addition to her family. “She’s brought so much joy, and I love her to pieces,” she happily tells US. “She loves being hugged and held. She’s such a beautiful little baby and little soul.”

What does Charlie Sheen think of all this? Richards says that Sheen has actually spent time with baby Eloise and she and her ex are on good terms, “We talk every day. He knows how much I love, love kids, so he was very supportive.” She also added, “Charlie is truly very happy for me. He knows I always wanted more kids.
