DIY Carboard ‘Caine’s Arcade’ Receives Over $145,000
Just a few days ago, Caine’s story and his DIY cardboard arcade went viral online.
Since then, it’s been packed with patrons wanting to get a glimpse of the arcade and the now famous 9-year-old Caine.
To support this budding young entrepreneur, filmmaker Nirvan Mullick started a college fund which now stands at almost $150,000 (the number increases every minute!)
So what does Caine think of all this attention? “I’m proud – because I have my own arcade,” he humbly tells NBC News.
“He just goes along like regular kid,” George Monroy, Caine’s father said. “He doesn’t really think about everyone wanting to talk with him. He’s very comfortable talking to adults. He always has been.”
And while George admits he was initially worried about all the attention, he is grateful for all his son’s supporters. “So far everyone comes here with love and they want to congratulate him,” he says. “There haven’t been any wisecrackers coming over.”
With over a thousand people expected this weekend, the one place that really hasn’t heard too much about Caine’s Arcade is ironically, his school.
