A farm dog is now dubbed a hero after staying overnight to protect an abandoned newborn baby in Ghana. The dog found the 2-week-old boy under a bridge and never left his side.

A search party was out looking for the dog after the owner reported his pet missing. In a few hours, they finally found the pup curled around the abandoned infant.

With the pup keeping him warm all night, the baby was unharmed except for an infected umbilical cord.  The baby is currently in the custody of a local health organization, until a permanent home can be found. In the meantime, police are investigating the situation, although officials are speculating that this is most likely a teen pregnancy.
