A teen girl took a photo of a table full of cash and posted it on Facebook. Seven hours after the post, two thieves robbed their family home.

The 17-year-old girl was counting her grandmother’s savings when the teen shared the photo on Facebook.  Later that evening, two armed men barged into the girl’s mother’s home, demanding to speak to the girl about the “cash”.

The girl’s mom explained that the girl lived somewhere else, as the men searched the house and “took a small amount of cash and other personal property before leaving.”

Authorities are urging social media users to be careful about sharing photos and personal information online.
