French President Vows to Outlaw Homework
French President Francois Hollande is trying to get the future voters on his side by pledging to ban homework.
“Work should be done at school, rather than at home,” he announced, adding that students should be taught by teachers in school, instead of parents at home.
Unfortunately, whatever traction he got with the students may have been pushed back with his next statement. Hollande also wants to prolong the school week from the typical 4 days to a slightly longer 4 1/2 days. Instead of the long four days that ends at 5-6pm, Hollande wants to shorten those days and compensate by an extra half day in school.
What do you think of this campaign promise that hits closer to home?
