Gene Simmons spent Father’s Day accompanying daughter Sophie Simmons to the “X-Factor” auditions. Seems fatherly enough, right? Of course, if Gene Simmons was your dad, you would need to arrive in style; and in Simmons case, it was via his private jet!

“I was in Las Vegas, mom was in Los Angeles, and we get a phone call saying, ‘I can’t come home today because I’m in Oakland,’” Gen recalled. “And I said, ‘What are you doing in Oakland?’ She goes, ‘I’m auditioning for X Factor.’ So I had to take a private jet and Shannon came up. We had no idea this was happening. I swear to God.”

There’s no word on how auditions went, although it was revealed that the judges were split in their decision.

“This isn’t about my dad,” Sophie reportedly told judges. “This is about my audition.”
