Girl Scouts Chase and Punch Cookie Thief
Who stole money from the girl scout cookie jar?
Girl Scouts Rachel Johnson and Iravia Cotton were selling cookies outside a Houston-area Walmart when a man approached their table.
“A guy jumped out [of his car] and he just started asking us what kind of cookies do we have,” Cadet Senior Iravia Cotton recounted. Then, out of nowhere, the suspect quickly grabbed their cashbox and tried to run away.
Instead of waiting for help, the girl scouts took charge and chased after the thieves. “It was an adrenaline thing,” Cotton explains. “Somebody take your money, you are going to go for it.”
Johnson held onto the car and was dragged, as the suspects attempted a getaway. “I was running with [the car] at first, and I sort of fell down, and I was dragged for a few seconds,” recounted Johnson who had a few scrapes and bruises.
“I started hitting the boy who was in the passenger seat. So I think he learned his lesson a little bit,” said Cotton, who ended up with a busted lip.
Unfortunately for the troops, the cash box contained about $200 worth of cookie sales. However, more needs to be said about these two scouts who fought back against the cookie monster.
Johnson had a few final words for the robber, “I hope your face hurts from when Iravia punched you.”
