Grandfather Gives Lethal Dose of Morphine to Infant Grandson
Greg Busby, 60 has been sentenced to up to 15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter after giving his grandson a lethal dose of morphine.
On the week of February 10, Antonio Garcia-Lazarski was staying with his grandparents, when his mom went out of town. That morning, when Antonio`s grandmother Dawn Lazarski went to check on the baby, she tragically discovered that he was dead.
Tests later revealed that the baby had been administered a lethal dose of morphine, along with Benadryl.
Busby later admitted that he didn’t mean to harm the baby, but just wanted to find a way to calm him down. He later pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
“I don’t think it’s anything I’ll ever live down. I don’t know if I want to,” Busby regretfully said. “I’m just sorry. I’m very sorry it happened.”
Busby was on parole for forgery and counterfeiting at the time of the accident.
