In One Day, 6-year-old Raises Over $10,000 to Help Sick Dad
When 6-year-old Drew Cox found out that his dad, Randy Cox was diagnosed with Seminoma cancer, the little boy knew he had to help.
So last Saturday, Drew opened a lemonade stand and created a sign “Please Help My Dad”. With people lined up around the street, the family was surprised by the incredible turnout. Everyone, except Drew of course.
“I was thinking that everybody would come,” he said confidently.
And people agreed with him. “It’s the best place in town to get lemonade,” one patron tells reporters.
By the end of the day, they family received a staggering $10,000 which will help pay for his dad’s medical bills.
So why did Drew do all this work for his dad? “He is so important to me, we love to play with each other,” the boy simply said.
If the lemonade stand is too far but you would like to help the family, there is also donation page online.
