A newborn baby in Colombia who exhibited several abnormalities is leading people to believe that black magic and evil spirits have taken over his body.

Ana Feria Santos gave birth to a baby boy last month. The mother now fears that the child is a demon.

At just four weeks old, the child can reportedly stand and walk on his own. Santos also claims that the child hides and disappears around the house, cackling and staring at her with intense eyes.

“He walks like an adult, sometimes going off and hiding underneath the bed, in a suitcase, in the washing machine or in the fridge,” she fearfully tells a Columbian radio station.

To make matters worse, neighbors have also claimed that the child can conjure flames, as his clothes and furniture always look charred.

Due to the rumors, the Santos family have fallen prey to vigilante attacks. Frightened neighbors throw stones at their home every night.

Doctors and other officials are now investigating the phenomenon, trying to squelch rumors of black magic, and instead, believing that the child is a victim of abuse.

“Two small burns were found on the palm of the left hand and for that reason a restoration measure was adopted to safeguard the family environment,” a Colombian official stated. “The parents received a warning while the facts are being clarified.”

For now, the investigation is still inconclusive.
