JetBlue Agent Accused of Stealing from Child
JetBlue agent Marsha Henry has been suspended after she was charged with stealing from an 11-year-old passenger.
Andre Deshong was boarding a New York-bound flight from Fort Lauderdale Hollywood airport. He was traveling alone and carried a pouch that contained his boarding pass, as well as $200.
When Henry walked Deshong to his seat, she took the boy’s wallet.
“The lady who escorted him down to the airline took his pouch and he tried to let her know, ‘Hey, my wallet was in there,’ but then she just rushed him off into the plane,” recounted Deshong’s father.
Police were later able to identify Marsha Henry from footage on the surveillance video. The video shows the agent leaving the jet way carrying the boy’s wallet.
Henry has since been suspended from her job, as well as arrested and charged with petty theft. The airline will refund the boy’s family for the cost of the flight.
