In the middle of all the controversy and court appearances, Mel Gibson took a nice little break yesterday for the birth of his grandson.  Daughter Hannah gave birth on Sunday and according to PEOPLE magazine, a friend of Gibson said “He was overwhelmed with emotion. He gets that way around babies. … He was overjoyed.”

Congratulations Mel! You deserve a little break from all the craziness.
