The rumors have now been confirmed!

Jaden and Ella Hiller who play Lily in Modern Family have been recasted! In the next season, Lily will be played by four-year-old Aubrey Anderson-Emmons.

“She really enjoys the process ,” Executive Producer Steve Levitan tells EW. “And she looks just like Jaden and Ella! When we had her do a scene, she sounded natural — not like a cutesy kid actor.”

We’ll see how she works with the rest of the cast, but things will certainly be different. Lily, who ended last season as a taciturn 2 year-old, will now have a speaking role next season, albeit a minor one.

We can’t wait for the season to start!
