Mom and Unborn Baby Recovering After Aurora Shooting that Killed Her Six-Year-Old Daughter
In the terrible tragedy in Aurora last week, a pregnant mom was shot three times. Miraculously, she and her unborn child are alive and recovering in the hospital.
25-year-old Ashley Moser was shot in the abdomen and throat as James Holmes went on a shooting rampage during a Dark Knight screening last week. Sadly, her six-year-old daughter Veronica Moser-Sullivan who sat next to her during the movie was the youngest victim killed during the attack.
“I don’t know how, but she still has the baby,” Moser’s brother Robert Sierra said. “Yesterday I was told she had lost it and today it’s OK. It’s a miracle as she was shot in the stomach.”
Despite the good news, the mom is still distraught over the loss of her daughter. When the mom was finally told about Veronica’s death, she kept on screaming, “I want to die.”
“She took it very badly,” Jean Moser, Ashley’s grandmother recalled sadly. “I know she was shocked.”
“Veronica wanted to be a princess,” Sierra fondly described. “Everybody loved her. Her laughter was infectious, when she laughed everybody laughed. She would have so much fun playing, all you would hear through the house was her laughing and giggling.”
Officials are investigating James Holmes’ apartment after disabling all 30 bombs that he set up.
