Mom Buys iPad and Finds a Notepad Instead
Mom Bobbi Linden wanted to buy her daughter an iPad for her 15th birthday. Unfortunately, they would have never thought that they would receive an old-fashioned notepad instead.
When Courtney Akers received her gift, the teen was ecstatic over her brand-new iPad, until she opened up package and saw the yellow notepad.
“I thought they were joking,” Courtney explained. “And they weren’t.”
The mom was irate over the hoax and rushed back to Walmart to get their money back. Unfortunately, the store manager refused to believe their story.
“I explained I wouldn’t have done that, and that we do not have an iPad,” Linden recalled. “She was just saying she has never seen it happen before and she couldn’t help us.”
Linden finally reached out to KHOU 11 News who in turn contacted Walmart to look into this case further. After tracking the package, Walmart’s corporate office finally agreed to get the family a new iPad. The office also confirmed that similar hoaxes have been on a rise in some of the local stores.
