Mom Dies Saving 3-Year-Old Daughter from Tornado
A tornado ripped through Venus, Florida, destroying homes and property. After the devastation, a mom’s body was found shielding her 3-year-old daughter amidst the rubble.
Heather Town’s mobile home was thrown 200 feet into the woods as Tropical Storm Debby hit her town. With only her and her three-year-old daughter at home, she clutched the little girl and took the force of the impact.
After the storm settled, neighbors heard the sound of a crying child and followed the source of the cry. In the middle of the debris, they saw a lifeless Town still holding onto her daughter.
“Anyone that can hold on to their baby like that, I mean, she was brave. To cling to her child, to keep her baby safe,” Town’s sister said.
“She was a great mother and held her baby through all of this, and held her so tight, and she was holding her through the tornado and when they found her, she was still holding her,” Town’s father also added. “Just to know that my daughter was holding her baby so tight … she’s a wonderful mother.”
Her daughter is recovering from a few broken bones, but is otherwise fine. Town’s two other kids were not at home when the tornado hit.
