Nadya “Octomom” Suleman just filed for bankruptcy, a day after she paid $520 for her haircut and claimed that she is getting off welfare support.

The mom-of-14 was outraged when she received public backlash amidst claims that she frivolously spent money on herself while keeping her kids in less-than-ideal conditions. She insisted that she is making enough money for her family now and will no longer need government support.

A day after issuing that statement, Suleman officially filed for bankruptcy.  In the court papers, her assets were listed as $50,000 and her debts up to $1 million.

“I have had to make some very difficult decisions this year and filing Chapter 7 was one of them,” Suleman explained. “But I have to do what is best for my children and I need a fresh start.”

To aggravate matters, Suleman also said that she is now willing to go into porn to pay her bills.  “You know if the opportunity comes up I’ll be the first to admit, I’m gonna eat my words!,” she tells HLN. “Because all that matters is that I can take care of my family. If it’s a job, and it’s a well-paying job, and it’s gonna allow me to get out of here and move [my kids] into a very safe, huge home that they deserve … I’m gonna do it.”
