Natalie Portman’s little Aleph
Natalie Portman (aka Natalie Hershlag — her original Israeli name) chose a symbolic Hebrew name for her little boy.
Baby Aleph, also spelled Alef, is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. This can have multiple translations from “leader” or “oneness of god.” In Judaic Kabbalah, the name Alef is even more lofty, meaning the “primordial one that contains all numbers.”
With a name like Aleph, we’re pretty sure that the baby will be nothing short of amazing. Can’t wait for more pictures of the little one!
