It’s been confirmed! Nick and Vanessa Lachey are expecting baby # 1!

Nick Lachey was hosting Live! with Kelly this morning and confirmed rumors that he and Vanessa Minnillo are expecting a baby together.

The mom-to-be found out she was pregnant last January, “She was in New York and I was in the Bahamas. She went to the store and got a pregnancy test and it came back positive. We’re having a baby!”

So how does Nick feel about this new addition? “I’ve had a chance to do a lot of great things in my career and my life but this is the one thing that, more than any other, I look forward to. The fact that it’s actually here, it’s overwhelming.”

It’s too soon to determine the baby’s gender, but they are definitely waiting for it. ”We definitely want to know,” Lachey told Ripa. “I can’t take the knowledge that someone out there knows, but I don’t know. It’s like watching a sports game on TiVo.”

Rumors of a baby started when the couple attended a friend’s wedding in Mexico last month and Minnillo’s usual svelte figure was emphasized by a seemingly small baby bump.
