Olympic gold medalist Kerri Strug and husband attorney Robert Fischer III just welcomed a baby boy Tyler William Fischer last March 1.

Tyler came in at over 7 lbs. which was quite a handful for the petite mom who is only 4’10″.

“For me, he was large!” Strug quipped.

“Everyone tells you, ‘When you have a child, you’ll understand,’” Strug explained about motherhood. “It’s kind of like my gymnastics training when people said, ‘Dreams do come true, anything’s possible.’ You hear these things and you really want to believe them, but you don’t quite get it until you go through it.”

“And it’s the same with Tyler. I understand it now, the immediate love,” she added.

This is the first child for the couple and Strug who heads off to London soon for the Summer Olympics.
