Pregnant Mom Kicked Off Bus for Baby’s Dirty Diaper
A pregnant woman was kicked off a bus in Seattle, after the bus driver complained about her baby’s dirty diaper.
Nichole Hakimian took the bus this week to bring her sick one-year-old son to the doctor. Unfortunately for her, the baby who was suffering from a stomach flu left a little present.
“He had just pooped in his diaper as soon as I got on,” Hakimian explained. “Right after that, the bus driver told me to get off the bus. I said, ‘why is that?’ She said, ‘Your baby smells really bad. And it’s not fair that we all have to smell that.’”
With that statement, the pregnant mom was forced to find another means of travel with another 1 1/2 miles to the doctor’s office.
“You don’t just come out of nowhere and kick a mom off a bus with a sick child,” the angry mom tells KOMO.
Hakimian has since filed a complaint against the bus driver and is threatening to sue to Seattle Metro.
“This is a very unique situation. Our goal is always to balance the comfort of all of our riders with providing good customer service,” a spokesman for the organization said. “The driver didn’t violate Metro policy – she felt she had to advocate for her passengers by politely and apologetically asking the woman to exit the bus.”
The organization will not enforce any disciplinary actions against the driver, and the mom is pushing forward with her lawsuit.
“You need disciplinary action, and I think they went about it the wrong way,” she added. “When you do something wrong – no matter what it is, no matter what circumstance – you need to be punished for that.”
