PS22 Chorus in the Oscars – Somewhere Over the Rainbow
What is PS22 Chorus? If you were like me, you had to google that at the end of tonight’s Oscars.
PS22 Chorus is a choir made up of fifth-graders from Graniteville, New York. Reminiscent of Glee, Breinberg started the chorus in 2000, working with unique song choices and arrangements. While great, their popularity didn’t take off until 8 years later, when Perez Hilton shared their videos in his blog. Since then, the chorus has gotten quite huge, with appearances in the White House, Oprah…and now the Oscars.
