Stanley the Toy Train Launched into Space
Stanley the Train never thought that he could reach for the stars…literally.
Father-son duo Ron Fugelseth and Jayden, 4 decided to launch Stanley into space.
The dad concocted the wild plan, after seeing a similar video of a Lego man getting launched into space. “I figured if two high school kids can send a Lego man to space, then I, as a grown man, can make Stanley to space,” the proud dad explained.
And so, armed with a weather balloon, a pole, and a Flip camera, Stanley was on his way to internet stardom.
“My 4 year old and Stanley are inseparable like Calvin and Hobbes. He’s been attached to him since he was two, and they play, sleep and do everything together,” Fugelseth wrote.
Luckily for the pair, Stanley didn’t get lost in space and was recovered, albeit with some difficulty, as he descended back to the earth’s atmosphere. After a thorough search in a corn field, 27 miles from the initial launch site, Stanley the Train and best pal Jayden were reunited.
