Teen Saves a School Bus
A middle school student saved the day when he took over a school bus after the driver suffered a seizure.
13-year-old Jeremy Wuitschick was on his way to school when he noticed something was off. “I knew something was wrong,” Jeremy said. “The bus driver looked funny. His eyes were bulging, he was sitting back and his hands were flapping around.”
Jeremy and another student, Johnny Wood went into action. Jeremy steered the vehicle to the side of the road while Johnny gave CPR to the unconscious driver.
“I’ll tell you, I’ll give the kid credit for fast thinking.” Milton Police Chief Bill Rhodes said, “He did the right thing and we’re going to do something for him. The kid definitely deserves credit.”
Jeremy knows how to drive because his mom allows him to back up the car when he washes it.
The bus driver was taken to the hospital and still in serious condition.
