Texas Gun Range Now Open for Kid’s Parties
Clowns? Movie night? Cupcakes?
Why not give your kids a birthday that they’ll always remember…at the Eagle Gun Range in Lewisville, Texas.
The gun range will be open for birthday parties for kids 8 and older. All the attendees will get a 30-minute gun safety course and will then get to shoot either a BB gun or a .22 long rifle.
“I don’t know whether anyone has ever tried this before,” rationalized David Prince, the owner of the gun range. “I think it is a good way to introduce gun safety to kids in a responsible way in a controlled environment.”
“We’re not just going to have kids running around waving loaded guns and shooting at piƱatas,” added Prince.
So what do parents think about this idea? “I think this is such a great idea,” said Lori Benoit of Austin. “I have three boys and they are all fascinated with guns. I would love to have a place like this close to us. It would be such a great experience to introduce shooting sports to kids at a party.”
“I would much rather see kids experiment with guns in a controlled environment than off somewhere in the open where someone could get hurt,” one of the dads added.
Despite the controlled setting, should there be an age limit for using something as potentially lethal as a gun? What do you think of this idea?
